The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has accorded approval for the allotment of coal mines to central and state public sector undertakings (PSUs) for commercial mining. The cabinet has essentially done away with end-use restriction to allow sale of coal from these blocks to medium, small and cottage industries under the provisions of the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015.
