Goa Waste Management Corporation Bill 2016 approved

The government of Goa approved the Goa Waste Management Corporation Bill 2016. The bill will assist the state government to form a corporation to tackle the garbage menace and
develop waste management facilities in their respective areas. The organization will ensure the establishment and orderly development of SWM facilities in the state, with a special focus on the coastal belts, rural areas and any other area as proposed by the government. The corporation is expected to be funded through the cess collected under the Goa Non-biodegradable Garbage Control Act as well as through the green cess.
