The MoP has also launched the Discovery of Efficient Electricity Price (DEEP) portal for medium-term (one-five years) power procurement. Earlier, in May 2016, the ministry had launched DEEP for short-term power procurement. The portal is based on the Guidelines for Medium Term Procurement of Power which was notified by the government in 2014 and further amended in May 2015. As per the MoP, the scope of the portal is proposed to be further expanded to cover long-term procurement of power.
