Construction work on a 20-mld STP in Vrindavan begins

The Uttar Pradesh government has commenced construction work on a 20-mld capacity STP in Vrindavan. The STP will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 400 million. The treated wastewater from the STP will be supplied for industrial use through a 9-km pipeline, which will be laid rom Laxmi Nagar to the Gokul barrage and further, to the Mathura refinery. An MoU has also been signed to this effect between the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
