The central government has signed an MoU with the Himachal Pradesh government and Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited for inclusion in the Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana (UDAY). The state is likely to witness overall net benefits of around Rs 8.23 billion owing to savings in interest cost, a reduction in aggregate technical and commercial losses (AT&C), and interventions in energy efficiency, among other things. With this, 18 states and union territories have joined UDAY.
