Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has signed separate MoUs with Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) and Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) for supplying 1 mt of coal to each. While TANGEDCO will utilise the coal at the 1,400 MW Mettoor thermal power plant (TPP) at Salem in Tamil Nadu, MAHAGENCO will utilise the coal at the 250 MW Parli TPP and the three 660 MW units of the Korade TPP. Besides this, SCCL is also in discussions with TANGEDCO for increasing coal supply to 3 mt in 2017-18.
