The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board in Telangana is planning to supply potable water to 190 villages outside the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. The scope of project work involves construction of 12 overhead balancing reservoirs and 398 overhead service reservoirs, provision of water supply connections to households and undertaking electrical and mechanical works for the required pump houses. The project is expected to require an investment of Rs 6.28 billion and will be completed by 2018. It will benefit about 60,000 households in 190 villages, which fall within the Outer Ring Road limits of the city. In addition, the project will also cover habitations in 12 mandals across the Ranga Reddy and Medak districts, including the Badangpet and Pedda Amberpet nagar panchayats.
