NTPC signs MoU with NALCO for 2,400 MW coal-based CPP at Dhenkanal in Odisha

NTPC has signed an MoU with National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) for setting up a 2,400 MW coal-based captive power plant (CPP) at Dhenkanal in Odisha. Through the MoU, NTPC and NALCO will form a JV company for setting up the CPP. NALCO will procure power from the CPP for its expansion plans at Angul and a greenfield smelter at Kamakhyanagar in Odisha. The estimated investment in all these projects is Rs 360 billion.
