NDMC inaugurates 24 MW Waste-to-Energy Plant at Narela Bawana

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has inaugurated a waste to energy plant under the Narela Bawana municipal solid waste management project. The plant has the capacity to treat 2,000 tonnes of waste per day using two combustors. The waste will be processed to generate 24 MW power. The power generated from the project will be sold at a tariff og Rs 7.03 per kWh. At present, the plant has been connected to the the grid and commercial operations have commenced. The project has entailed a cost of Rs 6.5 billion. It has been developed  under a public-private partnership model. For this, NDMC collaborated with Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited through its special purpose vehicle Delhi MSW Solutions Limited.
