Treated sewage to be supplied to industries in Bangalore

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) in Karnataka is planning to supply treated sewage to industries in the Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts. The civic agency will convey about 8 thousand million cubic feet of treated sewage from the Koramanagala STP to the two districts. Besides being supplied to industries, some of the treated sewage will also be diverted to water bodies in the two regions. The state Minor Irrigation Department will lay the pipelines required to pump the treated sewage from the STP to the districts. BWSSB will bear the entire cost of the project.
