Cities selected under Round III of the Smart Cities Mission announced

The Ministry of Urban Development has announced the list of 30 cities to be developed under Round III of the Smart Cities Mission. The 30 cities, selected from a total of 45 cities which participated in the round, will present potential investment opportunities worth Rs 573.93 billion. Of this, while Rs 468.79 billion (or about 82 per cent) of investments will be towards core infrastructure development, Rs 105.14 billion (18 per cent of total investment) will be spent on technology-based development. Going forward, the ministry is expecting 20 cities to compete for the remaining 10 slots under the last round of the mission.
