Desalination plant proposed at Villupuram in Tamil Nadu

The Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to develop a 100 mld desalination plant at Villupuram. The plant is expected to cost Rs 10 billion and will meet the drinking water requirements of the Villupuram and Cuddlore districts. Meanwhile, the government has also proposed to launch an UGD scheme worth Rs 1.98 billion in Villupuram and construct check dams for all rivers in the state at a cost of Rs 10 billion.
