Wind power tariffs hit record low in TANGEDCO auction

Wind power tariffs touched a record low of Rs 3.42 per unit compared to the previous low of Rs 3.46 per unit (discovered in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction in February 2017), at an auction held by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) for 500 MW of wind power capacity. ReGen Powertech Private Limited quoted the lowest tariff of Rs 3.42 per unit for 250 MW of capacity, followed by Leap Green Energy (Rs 3.43 per unit for 250 MW) and NLC India Limited (Rs 3.45 per unit for 400 MW. TANGEDCO had set the ceiling price of tariff at Rs 3.46 per unit in the tender.
