The Maharashtra government has inaugurated the Bhama Askhed dam water pipeline project. The project was implemented by the Pune Municipal Corporation. It aims to draw 2.2 thousand million cubic feet of water from the BhamaAskhed dam to the eastern parts of the city in Maharashtra. The project entailed an investment of Rs 4.48 billion. Upon successful commissioning, 200 million litres per day (mld) of water will be supplied to around 25 wards in Kharadi and the Pune-Ahmednagar Road section.
