Dhanbad Municipal Corporation to take over water supply project

The Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC) is expected to take over the Rs 3.65 billion water supply project that is currently being run by the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Jharkhand. The take-over is being done to ensure better services to residents of the town and neighbouring areas. DMC will take over the Dhanbad water supply project in phases and start with the O&M of the Sindri water supply scheme. Moreover, DMC will aim to increase water connections, which currently stand at around 33,000, and regularise illegal connections by levying a penalty.
