The Indian Oil Corporation has commissioned two compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The oil refining company is in the process of constructing a steel gas pipeline network in Coimbatore with the aim of directly supplying gas to consumers in the city. The company plans to develop as many as 431 CNG stations in the twin districts of Salem and Coimbatore over the next eight years.
