Central government increases subsidy for e-two-wheelers under FAME II

The central government has increased the subsidy for electric two-wheelers under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME India) in India Phase II  by 50 per cent to Rs 15,000 per kWh from the earlier uniform subsidy of Rs 10,000 per kWh for all EVs, including plug-in hybrids and strong hybrids, except buses. The Department of Heavy Industry has also capped incentives for e-two-wheelers at 40 per cent of the cost of vehicles, up from 20 per cent earlier.
