Torrent Gas has launched 25 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu. The company has already set up its city gate station at Vallur near Ennore in Tiruvallur district through which piped gas can be supplied to over 3.3 million residences. Torrent Gas has planned a capital expenditure of Rs 100 billion over the next five years in the city gas distribution (CGD) sector. Of the Rs 100 billion, the company has already invested Rs 19 billion. Besides, Torrent Power is going to invest Rs 50 billion of the total Rs 100 billion budgeted expenditure in Tamil Nadu.
