NTPC Limited has awarded a stand-alone fuel cell-based microgrid with hydrogen production at NTPC’s Guest House at Simhadri (near Visakhapatnam) in Andhra Pradesh. This will be India’s first green hydrogen-based energy storage project and one of the largest in the world. In a separate development, NTPC declared commercial operation of Unit 4 of the Nabinagar thermal power project (4×250 MW) of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC, effective December 1, 2021. With this, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 67,907.5 MW.
