The Karnataka government has approved the implementation of the remodelling of stormwater drains in Bengaluru. The project involves the construction of concrete retaining walls around 88.53 km of stormwater drains in the city. It entails an investment of Rs 9.62 billion. Out of the total cost, the maximum allocations have been made for Bommanahalli (Rs 2.56 billion), Yelahanka (Rs 1.64 billion) and R.R. Nagar (Rs 1.53 billion). The project is aimed at freeing 58 low-lying areas from flood vulnerability.
