The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) achieved a key milestone by providing clean drinking water to a remote Ladakh village. Even in subzero temperatures, residents of Skampuk village in Leh’s Nubra block now have access to drinkable water. The village is located at a height of 13,000 feet. This has been made possible by an insulation jacket around the pipe. Under the JJM-Har Ghar Jal scheme, every rural household is to be provided a functional tap water connection by 2024.
