WB approved funds worth Rs 11.33 billion for three projects under Karnataka urban water supply modernisation project

The World Bank has approved additional funds worth Rs 11.33 billion for three projects under the Karnataka urban water supply modernisation project. These are the 24×7 water supply project in Belgaum. The project aims to provide water to localities in all the 58 wards of the corporation, including unauthorised layouts. The 24×7 water supply project in Hubballi-Dharwad for construction of 67 wards in Hubballi and Dharwad is being implemented in three phases. Phase I of the project involving eight wards was a pilot project and was extended to 39 wards. The 24×7 water supply project in Kalaburagi/Gulbarga involves the construction of a 100 mld WTP at Salam Tekdi and a new clear water pumping station in Kalaburagi.
