The Karnataka government approved the augmentation of the Kabini bulk water supply scheme (WSS) Phase II on January 21, 2022. The project involves the augmentation of the Kabini WSS from 60 million litres per day (mld) to 180 mld to provide drinking water to Kuvempu Nagar, Hosahundi, Kalalawadi, Dhanagalli, Extended Vijayanagar 4th stage, Dattagalli, Bogadi, BEML Layout 2nd stage, Deepanagar, Kergalli and others areas. It entails an investment of Rs 1.5 billion.
