Haryana and Himachal Pradesh signed MoU for implementation of Saraswati river rejuvenation project

The governments of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have signed an MoU for the implementation of the Saraswati river rejuvenation project. The project involves the construction of a dam on 31.66 hectares of land in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It entails an investment of Rs 2,150 million. The project also involves the construction of a reservoir in three villages of Yamunanagar district in Haryana to supply water to the Saraswati river during water shortage in the dam, along with the development of a barrage with a cumulative storage capacity of 1,674 hectares. It entails an investment of Rs 3,880 million.
