Delhi to treat 95 per cent wastewater generated by December 2022

Of the wastewater being generated in Delhi, 95 per cent is to be treated by December 2022. This will help reduce the pollution load in the Yamuna river. The Jal Board (DJB) plans to augment Delhi’s sewage treatment capacity by 130 million gallons per day (mgd) by December 2022. The treatment capacity will be increased by 20 mgd at the Kondli sewage treatment plant (STP), 40 mgd at the Rithala STP, 30 mgd at the Okhla STP and 40 mgd at the Coronation Pillar STP.
