Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has started trial operations of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) to compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion plant at Pathardi in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. The plant is expected to be commercially operational within a month. According to MNGL’s trials, the gas conversion plant produced 18,000 kg of CNG on the first day. MNGL plans to bring LNG to Nashik via tankers and convert it to CNG so as to supply it to vehicles. Additionally, it will also produce piped natural gas and supply it to domestic consumers for cooking. Over time, the capacity of the plant is expected to be raised to 100,000 kg of CNG per day.
