Telangana plans to bring clean water into the river Musi

The Telangana government plans to bring clean water into the river Musi. There are 54 major nalas in the 675 sq. km Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area, and about 94 per cent of the sewage water flows into the river Musi. The state plans to treat the waste that flows into the river during the beautification project, as the river is currently heavily polluted. Additionally, the state is planning on treating 100 per cent of the wastewater being generated. This would involve setting up decentralised sewage treatment plants in 36 parts of the city.
