The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has signed two quadripartite agreements worth Rs 2.73 billion for the development of sewage infrastructure. This includes a 35 million litres per day (mld) sewage treatment plant for Maheshtala in West Bengal under HAM. One agreement is an escrow agreement among NMCG, Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), Maheshtala Waste Water Management Private Limited (MWWMPL) and Union Bank of India. The other agreement is a substitution agreement among NMCG, KMDA, MWWMPL and the Development Bank of Austria.
