GAIL to set up small liquefaction facilities

In a bid to cater to the growing gas demand, GAIL India Limited (GAIL) is planning to set up small liquefaction facilities. This will help transport gas from isolated fields and cater to the gas demand in areas that lack pipeline access. Two small-scale liquefaction skids capable of producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) on a trial basis have been ordered by GAIL. Reportedly, these plants will help in the distribution of natural gas through liquefaction in new CGD areas, and support the setting up of LNG-fuelling stations and bunkering.
