AG&P Pratham inaugurates the first CNG station in Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh

In a notable development, AG&P Pratham has successfully inaugurated the first compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh. It is the thirteenth station in the Anantapur-Kadapa geographical area. AG&P Pratham is planning to invest Rs 2 billion in Kadapa district in the next five years. The investment will be used to develop gas distribution infrastructure, thereby providing direct and indirect employment to around 500 people. The company is setting up a liquefied-to-compressed natural gas (LCNG) station in Kadapa to bridge the demand-supply gap for natural gas. This is expected to benefit consumers in the form of a 30 per cent reduction in their fuel bill against petrol prices and 20 per cent savings in household cooking fuel when compared to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The supply from the LCNG station is expected to begin in September 2022.
