The projected electrical energy requirement and peak electricity demand on an all-India basis have been estimated at 1,874 BUs and 272 GW respectively for 2026-27. To meet this peak demand and energy requirement, the capacity addition required during 2022-27 is 228,541 MW. For this, the total fund requirement is estimated to be Rs 14.31 trillion. The CEA has invited comments on the draft by December 5, 2022.
