The Central Electricity Authority has prepared Draft Guidelines for Resource Adequacy Planning Framework for India, which can be adopted by discoms to plan for resource adequacy. Resource adequacy is the ability of an electric power system to serve load across a broad range of system operating conditions. The adequacy plan also helps discoms plan their resource requirement optimally, leveraging the benefits of the diversity of power requirements among states, thereby reducing the power procurement cost.
