Gujarat achieves 100 per cent status under JJM

Gujarat has achieved 100 per cent Har Ghar Jal status under the Jal Jeevan Mission. According to the government, the state has connected all villages (18,187) to the tap water supply. As a result of this, around 9.2 million households have been covered under the scheme. This has been possible by setting up 63,287 km of distribution pipelines, 3,498 underground pumps, 2,396 high tanks, 339 wells, 3,985 tube wells, 324 mini schemes and 302 solar-powered drinking water distribution systems. Apart from the Jal Jeevan Mission, the state’s water supply department has taken up work for new schemes worth Rs 159.89 billion to provide pure, regular and adequate water to rural citizens.
