The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has decided to distribute water quality testing kits to 1 million people in the city. These specially designed kits will enable residents to check the quality of water supplied in their area. People can also upload the results and parameters on an online application dedicated to this purpose. This will enable the city’s water authorities to keep a check on the water quality in different areas of the city. In case any contamination or impurity is detected in the water, the authorities will take immediate steps to rectify the quality by stopping the ongoing supply and making alternative arrangements. As per the officials, 1.2 million kits will be procured, out of which 1 million will be distributed to the residents within the limits of the Outer Ring Road.
