According to the Economic Survey 2023-24, as of January 18, 2023, 110 million households have been provided tap water supply out of a total of 194 million. Four states, namely Goa, Gujarat, Telangana and Haryana, and three union territories (UTs), namely, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, and Puducherry have become Har Ghar Jal-certified. This implies that 100 per cent of the households in these states/UTs have tap water connections.
