The Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Department has approved funds worth Rs 5.11 billion for the rejuvenation of the Kanh and Saraswati rivers under the National Mission for Clean Ganga. The scope of work includes the upgradation of a 78 million litre per day (mld) sewage treatment plant (STP) and a 12 mld STP, and the construction of two new STPs with capacities of 35 mld (near Laxmibai statue) and 40 mld (Kanadia area) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
