12 projects worth Rs 10.9 billion get approval by NMCG

According to the National Mission for Clean Ganga, 12 projects worth Rs 10.9 billion have been approved under the Namami Gange Programme. Of these, four projects worth Rs 4.07 billion have been approved for cleaning the river Hindon in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh under the Hindon Rejuvenation Plan. These projects include the installation of sewage treatment plants (STPs) of different capacities, septage co-treatment facilities, common effluent treatment plants, interception and diversion works, and the development of ghats. Furthermore, a project for the development of seven ghats in Prayagraj has been sanctioned as a precursor to the Ma­hakumbh to be held in Uttar Pradesh in 2025.
