The Haryana government has approved 795 new schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 8.34 billion for the augmentation of drinking water supply in urban and rural areas of Haryana. Funds worth Rs 8.01 billion were also sanctioned by the government for 286 approved projects for the financial year 2023-24. These projects are to accelerate works on flagship programmes of the public health and engineering departments of the rural and urban areas of Haryana. The state government has also issued directions for the identification of rural and urban pockets that get waterlogged every monsoon.
