Vedanta Limited is seeking a minimum of $9.5 per mBtu for the sale of natural gas from the RJ-ON-90/1 block at Bar¬mer in Rajasthan. It has sought bids for the sale of 0.6 mscmd gas from the block in three months, beginning from October 1, 2023. Besi¬des, the bidders were asked to quote a variable P, over and above 14.5 per cent of the Brent crude oil price. At the current Brent price of $84 per barrel, bi¬d¬ders are required to quote a price over and above the base $12.8. How¬ever, the prices being sought by the company are about 50 per cent over the ceiling price of $6.5 per mBtu paid to state-owned producers like ONGC.
