The Barauni-Guwahati natural gas pipeline is likely to commence supply in Guwahati by December 2023. It will connect the state of Assam to the national gas grid. The Barauni-Guwahati natural gas pipeline, being developed by GAIL (India) Limited under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project, involves the laying of a 729 km long natural gas pipeline between Ba¬rauni and Guwahati in the states of Bihar and Assam, respectively, which will link the north-eastern part of the country to the national grid.
