IOLPL plans investment worth Rs 34 billion for Ennore terminal capacity expansion

IOCL’s JV, IndianOil LNG Private Limited (IOLPL), is planning to invest funds worth Rs 34 billion to double the capacity of the Ennore LNG terminal inside Kamarajar Port in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to 10 million tonnes per annum, alongside developing a 20 million standard cubic meters per day LNG storage and regasification facility. The terminal will then supply clean energy in the states of Tamil Nadu, An­dhra Pradesh and Kar­nataka. Engineers India Limited is likely to condu­ct environmental impact assessment and rapid risk assessment studies for the project.
