The Tripura government has inaugurated a water treatment plant (WTP) at Ushabazar in Agartala, Tripura, on December 5, 2023. The project involves the construction of an 8 mld WTP, equipped with supervisory control and data acquisition automation, at an estimated cost of Rs 780 million. In addition, 16,224 households in Ushabazar will be connected to a drinking water pipeline by 2025 under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0, while other households will be provided water supply under the ADB-funded North-Eastern Region Capital Cities Development Investment Programme-Agartala Water Supply Project worth Rs 6 billion.
