Centre inaugurates 201 CNG stations across 52 GAs

The central government has inaugurated 201 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across 52 GAs covering 17 states. The stations developed by 15 CGD entities of the GAIL Group include 53 of GAIL Gas Limited, 50 of Indraprastha Gas Limited, 43 of GAIL (India) Limited, 20 of Mahanagar Gas Limited, four of Avantika Gas Limited, three each of Central U.P. Gas Limited and Green Gas Limited, two each of Bengal Gas Company Limited and Purba Bharati Gas Private Limited, and one each of Goa Natural Gas Private Limited, TNGCL and Vadodara Gas Limited. It has also inaugurated the country’s first small-scale liquefied natural gas unit at GAIL’s Vijaipur LPG plant, entailing an investment of Rs 1.5 billion.
