Anchor Ceramic Company Private Limited has won a contract worth Rs 1.66 billion for the development of an underground sewerage scheme at Mannargudi Municipality in Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Bids for the same were invited by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board in November 2023. This entails a construction cost of Rs 1,623.04 million and an O&M cost of Rs 32.45 million. The scope of work includes the development of a collection system, encompassing house service connections, machine holes, pumping stations, pumping mains, lift stations and related infrastructure; alongside conducting a trial run for six months and O&M for five years. The project is being funded by KfW Development Bank under SBM 2.0. The work is likely to be completed in three years.
