Status of liquid waste management facilities under SBM-G 2.0

As of June 7, 2024, 478,480 villages have established liquid waste management arrangements under Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen [SBM-G] 2.0, including 1,643,479 community soak pits, 1,237,745 drainage facilities, 2,876 faecal sludge management plants, and 238,616 community sanitary complexes. Around 116,995 phytorid/decentralised wastewater treatment systems/wetlands/duckweed ponds and 33,025 waste stabilisation ponds have also been set up under the programme. Additionally, 543,256 villages have achieved the open defecation-free plus status.
