Kerala cabinet sanctions construction work of the Ettumanur Drinking Water Supply Project in Kerala

The Kerala cabinet has sanctioned construction work of the Ettumanur Drinking Water Supply Project in Kerala. Currently, construction work on Phase I is under way, which includes laying of the water pipeline. Phase II includes the development of a water treatment plant (WTP). The project involves the construction of a 22 mld WTP, high-level storage tank having capacity of 1.6 million litres (ml) and a ground storage tank with 2 ml capacity at Kacherikunnu and Katachira, a 13 km pipeline from the WTP to the storage tanks, and a 43-km long distribution network. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 932.2 million.
