The Karnataka government inaugurated the Yettinahole Drinking Water Supply Project Phase I on September 6, 2024. The project is being executed to provide drinking water supply to the arid zones of Kolar, Chikkballapur, Tumkur and Bengaluru’s rural districts by diverting water from Yettinahole, one of the tributaries of the Netravati river. It is being implemented in two stages at a cumulative cost of Rs 232.5 billion.
