Construction work has commenced on the Gurdaspur-Jammu natural gas pipeline with preliminary work in progress on sectionalising valves in Kathua and Hiranagar. Besides, it is likely to provide domestic gas supply in Jammu by 2026. The project involves laying, building, operating and expanding a 12 inch, 152 km natural gas pipeline from Gurdaspur (Punjab) to Jammu through Pathankot, Kathua and Samba, with system capacity of 3.1 million standard cubic metres per day.
