HPCL commissions Chhara LNG terminal

HPCL LNG Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), has commissioned the Chhara liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. The LNG cargo ship, Maran Gas Coronis, was berthed at the terminal on January 6, 2025. In addition, the transfer of cargo to the onshore LNG tanks was completed on January 12, 2025. The project involved the development of an LNG storage and regasification terminal at Chhara in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat, with a system capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) entailing an investment of Rs 47.5 billion.
