The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has launched the 10th round of the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP-X) under the Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy. The OALP-X round includes 25 blocks spread across 13 sedimentary basins, covering a total area of 191,986.21 square km. Of these, 16 blocks are located in areas that were previously restricted as “no-go” zones, covering 97,919.6 square km. Of the 25 blocks, six are on land, six are in shallow water, one is a deep-water block and 12 are ultra-deep-water blocks.
